Earth-friendly alternative to: conventional sponges - which are made with foamed plastic polymers, and paper towels - which are not recyclable and produce methane in landfills.
Why make the switch?
The convenience of paper towels comes at a high cost. They are incredibly harmful to the environment to produce and degrade, and they create a lot of waste. It is estimated that globally, we produce 254 tons of paper towel waste per year.
The U.S. alone uses 13 billion pounds of paper towels every year. Over 110 million trees are cut, and 130 billion gallons of water are used to keep up with this demand.
Care Instructions
Squeeze out excess water after use, and hang to dry.
To clean, place in the washing machine or top rack of the dishwasher, boil, or microwave when damp. Bleach safe. Do not tumble dry.
Your dishcloth should last you very well if properly cared for, but once you're ready for a new one, carefully cut it up and add to a compost heap.
