I know. This seems like a silly thing to write a blog post about, right? But I swear it was slightly life changing... in the best possible way.
For the longest time, I admired bodysuits from afar and always had a reason not to buy one.
They just aren't 'my style'.
I'm running after two kiddos, I can't be wearing complicated clothing.
Those are way too low cut.
I don't feel like trying it on right now.
I feel like I can't pull it off.
What do I wear it with?
You get the point 😂. Just a lot of excuses for not trying something that I genuinely liked and thought looked great on my friends. So when I was looking for new arrivals a few weeks ago, I'm not sure what made me finally take the plunge and stock a few styles... but I am so glad I did! This time I had no excuses to at least try one on.
It took a bit of experimentation to find the right pieces to build an outfit around a bodysuit, especially when it came to finding the perfect bottom half. I tried a few options to come up with the most figure-flattering combination for my body, and what works for me are high-waisted jeans and skirts. Once I found the right pairing, I loved how it looked -- and most importantly, I loved how I felt! Not gonna lie... for the first time since I had my son (almost 2 years ago!), I felt sexy and confident. And isn't that what our clothes are supposed to do? Make us feel good about ourselves? Yes!!
This was my family/graduation party look, but I can't wait to rock this beauty all summer!
The lesson here is: don't let your insecurities stop you from trying that style that caught your eye! Bodysuits can work for all body types when you play around with different waistlines and silhouettes. Be bold, and rock that new look! Which fashion trend were you afraid to try, and ended up loving?
