Transitioning to Fall

September 28, 2015

It's no surprise that almost everyone seems to love Fall - the colors... the crisp evenings...the warm coffee drinks... the clothes! It's finally time to dust off those boots, sweaters, and scarves. Well, unless you live in southern California like me, in which case, we probably still have a few more weeks to go. Either way, there are lots of fun ways to transition your favorite Summer pieces into Fall, and I've compiled a few tips for getting the most use out of your clothes. Hope you enjoy!

1. Layering and Swapping Shoes

You can still get away with wearing your favorite tanks, shorts, and dresses by adding layers and/or swapping those Summer sandals for Fall shoes. Flannels, chambray tops, thin cardigans, vests, and jean jackets are all perfect for transitioning to Fall.

Another favorite: wearing knee-high boots with high hemlines. Love! And, you can get the same look for less with knee-high socks.

2. Fall Colors

Wearing dresses or skirts in a classic Fall color - like navy, mustard, or burgundy - is another great way to transition.

Changing your make-up and nail polish colors can also have you feeling more cozy!

3. Tights

Adding tights is such an easy, low-cost way to warm up. It also happens to be my go-to every Fall! You can easily find me in shorts and tights three days a week.

Love these looks!

4. Blazers and Chunky Sweaters

Still want to wear those thin summer dresses? You totally can! Just add a slightly heavier layer, like a blazer or chunky sweater.

5. Scarves

And finally, it can just be as easy as adding a scarf to your outfit! So cute!

Here in San Diego, Fall season is really just "not-as-hot Summer," so it's nice having options to feel comfortable while still getting to enjoy some Fall pieces. What are your favorites?
