Now that I'm 32 weeks pregnant (eeek!), I am in full nesting mode. I love the idea of my kiddos sharing a room while they are little, so we are in the process of redecorating my daughter's room to accommodate little brother's arrival. I wanted to make something for each of them for their "new" room, so I decided on a couple of no-weave wall hangings.
A few Pinterest searches and thirty minutes later, I had the inspiration I needed! Here is the first one I finished:
Making it was a little time consuming, but so easy! I didn't follow any tutorials, just winged it based on the inspiration pics (which I've included below, along with the sources).
2 packs of chunky yarn
I cut the yarn to double the desired length, and folded the piece in half. Then, I tied it around the tree branch, as follows:
The bulkier you want it to look, the more tightly you'll want to push the yarn together on the branch. Once I was happy with the overall size, I put it up on the wall and cut a "V" shape on the bottom. And... that's it! Not as intricate as the woven or macrame wall hangings, but I love it just the same.
If anyone needs any additional tips, feel free to ask in the comments below! Thanks for reading! Here are the inspo pics I used:
